Speeding up Qualitative Emiratization

Following directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, the Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratization has placed the process of hiring Emirati nationals a top priority.

To this end, the Ministry had launched a number of strategic initiatives, including the Qualitative Emiratization program, which aims at hiring local talents directly into target sector. The program is based on developing partnerships with companies operating in those sectors, as part of the national and social reasonability towards Emiratization.

In order to ensure the success of its partnerships with the private sector in relations to Emiratization, the Ministry provides its partners with various types of support to enhance their ability to employ Emirati citizens, with the ultimate goal of fulfilling the Emiratization objectives of the UAE National Agenda leading to the UAE Vision 2021.

The retail sector is considered one of the strategic economic sectors in the UAE, given its ability to provide a high number of quality and stable employment opportunities for local talents, especially that a large number of Emiratis in this sector have proven their ability to hold top positions within the companies they work at.

The Ministry looks forward to creating more employment opportunities within the retail sector, by continuing to organize career fairs that are held in collaboration with federal and local government authorities, which are responsible for regulating the work environment for the target economic sectors, including retail.

In addition, the Ministry has confirmed its commitment to providing the retail sector expertise and job seekers who are ready to fill vacancies, having successfully completed training programs organized by MoHRE.

To that end, the Ministry also launched a number of initiatives aimed at increasing job seekers’ readiness, including individuals who are unable to pass job interviews during career fairs.

The Ministry lauds the level of cooperation displayed by retail companies through their participation in career fairs since the launch of the second phase of Qualitative Emiratization program. Worth noting that these career fairs have seen a large number of male and female Emirati job seekers.
